City of Rochester leaders backed down from plans to evict the owners of the Rochester Rhinos from Capelli Sport Stadium.

"Regarding Capelli Sport Stadium: The City and the tenant are actively engaged in negotiations and the City is satisfied with the progress of the negotiations," said Tim Curtin, City of Rochester Corporation Counsel in a statement sent to News10NBC. "We do not see a need to enforce the deadline at this time while we make progress in our discussions."

Owners Wendy and David Dworkin decided not to field a team for the 2018 season, citing financial reasons. They scheduled other soccer games at the stadium.

City of Rochester leaders said in January that the move violated the Dworkin's stadium lease, and announced that the Rhinos would be evicted by February. Talks have delayed that planned eviction.
