The department recognized the new roles at City Hall. Lieutenant Elena Correia was promoted to commander. We asked her about the challenges she's faced as a female in law enforcement.

"I'm very excited not only for the Rochester Police Department, but also for women who choose this profession and to know that you can rise up though the rank through dedication, hard work and perseverance and never ever set yourself short," says Commander Correia.

The department also promoted a captain, two lieutenants and three sergeants. Congratulations!
