RPD: Man hospitalized after getting hit by vehicle on Lyell Avenue

Rochester Police say that a city man was hospitalized after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing Lyell Avenue.

Police say the incident happened at around 2:33 a.m. Sunday morning at 170 Lyell Avenue. They report that the 25-year-old pedestrian reportedly stepped into the path of a vehicle that was headed westbound on Lyell Avenue.

According to police the man who was hit was taken to Strong Hospital. At the hospital, he was treated for leg and head injuries. Police report that he was listed in stable condition the last time they checked. 

They say that the 35-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle was an Irondequoit resident, and she was not charged. They also say no tickets were given out.
