The Rochester Police Department is urging people to remove their valuables from cars and lock the vehicle as car larcenies have averaged about one a week in Corn Hill.
Police say that every incident is investigated by an officer in person and that technicians are called when there is significant physical evidence, but that locking up and removing valuables is the most important thing to do.
The Central Section of RPD has begun a "Lock It or Lose It" campaign of informational flyers, and will be doing reverse-911 calls to residents if there is an ongoing pattern in the area.
