Search for missing Perinton couple continues

February 12, 2018 12:54 PM

It's been nearly two weeks since anyone saw or spoke to Robert and Mary Ross. The couple vanished after Robert stopped going to doctor's appointments to get treated for brain cancer.

While there is no active search Monday, investigators need help finding the couple's car. The license plate on their missing 2017 white Kia Sorrento reads 'BLUSTERY'.

The last known location of where the couple might have been came from their cell phone, last pinged on Lake Avenue in Charlotte. Investigators say it's in that area their card was used at an ATM to take out some cash, but it wasn't a large amount or anything that would stand out as unusual.

On Friday, State Police and deputies used a helicopter and drones to canvass the area, but nothing came from those efforts. The search on Sunday focused on the Genesee River.

The couple's son was at the search area while crews got in the water. Bob Ross told News10NBC he understands what it means to get to this point in the search and they are just desperate for answers.

"Trying to figure out if we want them to find something here or if we don't want them to find something here," Bob Ross said. "So one way or another, if they find something here, that means my folks were in the water for far too long. so we still have hope."

The Sheriff's Office says that there is no new information directing the search to the area, but that a brief period of warmer temperatures is allowing them to pursue all possible options as the investigation continues.
