Sodus Point man arrested for stealing from restaurant he once worked at- and then attempting escape

A 21-year-old Sodus Point man has been arrested for stealing from the restaurant he once worked at, and then later attempting to escape.

According to the Wayne County Police Department, Alec W. Trine was arrested following a larceny investigation at The Steger Haus Restaurant in Sodus on Saturday around 5:18 p.m., where a "large amount" of money had been taken. Deputies found Trine a little later in the parking lot of Camp Beechwood, where was found in possession of the money

Trine was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office for processing, and then was arraigned in the Town of Sodus Court where he was remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $5,000. After the arraignment, Trine became irate and refused to get into the patrol car and then took off running through the parking lot. 

After being quickly apprehended, Trine was charged with Escape and Obstructing Governmental Administration, in addition to his pre-existing Grand Larceny charge. He will appear in the Sodus Town Court at a later date and time to answer the charges.
