It has been four weeks since a 14-month-old boy and his mother disappeared in Sodus.
The child's mother was found dead in the woods near a farm, but the toddler has not been found.
Deputies said they are still doing what they can to find young Owen Hidalgo-Calderon but at this point, they have exhausted all leads.
The ground search has been suspended. Deputies have also packed up their staging area at the farm off Joy Road in Sodus. That is the last place Owen and his mother Selena were seen alive four weeks ago. Investigators spent days searching hundreds of acres for evidence.
A week after the two vanished, deputies found Selena’s body. Sheriff Barry Virts believes she was murdered. Her boyfriend Alberto Reyes is charged with tampering with evidence.
Sheriff Virts said Reyes admitted to hiding the body, but Reyes claims he did not kill her. More charges could be brought against Reyes once the medical examiner releases the report on how Selena died.
The sheriff said he still has not seen those findings and told News10NBC the tests take time.
