State police warn Seneca Co. residents of thefts from cars

State police are reminding Seneca County residents to lock their car doors after a series of thefts.

Investigators tell the Finger Lakes Times, in some cases, guns were stolen out from vehicles.

Troopers say the thefts are widespread across the county. They also say you shouldn't leave your keys in your vehicle. If you have something important that you have to keep in your vehicle, troopers tell the paper, you should secure it in your trunk.
