Fire damages building in Pultneyville, watch raw video
A building went up in flames early Monday morning in Pultneyville, a tiny hamlet in northern Wayne County. The building is in the 4100 block of Hamilton Street.
State troopers said the fire started in a barn next to a house and spread to the house and a nearby garage. One of the buildings is damaged beyond repair and there is heat damage another building.
There were old rifles and household goods stored in the barn, but there were no vehicles. An 80-year-old woman has lived in the house for much of her life and there were many old objects.
No one was injured, but some of the firefighters did get help for heat exhaustion.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. However, the fire department said lightning is a possibility.
