Geneseo air show this weekend

ESL AirshowThe Geneseo air show is this weekend, but today 60 children from Rochester got an advance look at the F-15 fighter jets and they also got a chance to talk with the pilots.

Besides the fighter jets, there will be vintage aircraft on display from World War II including the movie version of the B-17 Memphis Belle which completed 25 successful bomb missions.

Capt. Phil Smith said, "By far the best part of our job is getting to show kids, showcase the F-15, answer their questions talk to them and hopefully inspire them to do whatever they want to do and if that's flying, hopefully we've inspired them to do that."

Today's demonstration also served as a special homecoming for Bishop Kearney graduate Lieutenant Colonel Dave Brescia. He grew up in Rochester and was greeted by friends and family at the Geneseo airport today. "Born and raised here and I left when I went to college and haven't been back a whole lot since, so it's great to come back on my last trip. I'm retiring next Friday as a matter of fact and this is my last trip with the air force, so what a great place to end it but back home."

The air show begins tomorrow and runs through Sunday at the Geneseo airport. Tickets are $15 dollars for adults and five dollars for children ages 6 to 12. Click here for ticket and parking information.
