Sen. Schumer working to secure funds for Sodus Bay weed removal

WHEC-TVWeeds in Sodus Bay have been a problem for boaters, fishermen and homeowners for years.

Sen. Chuck Schumer is now working to secure $100,000 to get rid of the water chestnut weeds, and on Tuesday he announced the Army Corps of Engineers will be visiting Sodus Bay August 12.

The experts will look at how the weeds affect the bay and develop a plan of attack to eliminate them.
