Darrell Scott's daughter Rachel was the first person killed during the Columbine High School shootings ten years ago. He now travels the country keeping his daughter's legacy alive by trying to inspire acts of compassion and generosity. It all started with an essay Rachel wrote before she died. "She challenged her reader to start what she called a chain reaction of kindness and compassion," says Scott. "And we have seen so many acts of kindness come out of her life. She had premonitions that she would die at a young age, but she also believed that her life was going to impact the world." Scott gave his talk Tuesday at Mercy High School. He's shared the story with almost 13 million other students across the country. |
