We're told the man is in his mid 30's to mid 40's, but we do not know his name. The sheriff says there's no indication the man was trying to harm anyone else but himself. The body was found inside a car in Boughton Park in Bloomfield Monday around 4:45 p.m., leading officials to evacuate some of the people living in that area. A family out for a hike in Boughton Park made the disturbing discovery, and we spoke to the man who found the car in the park. He tells us that the windows seemed foggy, so he knocked on the window. The person inside did not respond, so he called 911. Ontario County Sheriff Philip Povero held a press conference tonight. He says that two five-gallon containers of liquid were found in the backseat of the man's Sedan. Povero says the liquid in the containers was hydrogen sulfide, a mixture of household chemicals that can be fatal if its fumes are inhaled. Povero also says there was a sign taped to the car warned that the vehicle shouldn't be opened because of toxic gas. The body is now being sent to the Monroe County Medical Examiner. Officials are continuing to investigate this incident. We have also learned that the gas from the containers has dissapated, and that it does not pose an environmental hazard. Residents who were evacuated are now back home. Officials expect to re-open the park today. For more Rochester, NY news, go to our website, www.whec.com.
