Senator Schumer wants Pan Am bomber back in jail
It's been three months since the man convicted of the 1988 Lockerbie bombing became a free man.
Abdel Al-Megrahi is terminally ill with prostate cancer and had only three months to live. He was released from prison in Scotland in August so that he could return home to die.
He's the only person ever convicted in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 in 1988 and now is still walking the streets of Libya a free man.
Senator Charles Schumer today who wants to see him back in jail. “They said, they the British Government were letting him out because he was dying, he only had three months to live. It’s been more than three months and he has been running around Libya. Put him back to jail.”
The plane exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland killing 270. Two local women were killed. Karen Hunt of Webster was a Syracuse University student and Lorraine Halsch was a mother from Perinton.
