Penfield Town Hall closes flu clinic early

The Monroe County Health Department reports that as of 4pm, all five H1N1 vaccination clinic locations are reporting a large turnout by residents and the vaccinations are going extremely well. However, Penfield Town Hall reached its capacity of residents who were in line and did not accept any more people after 4pm.

The County Health Department is reporting that the clinics with the lowest wait times are the West End Business Center on West Avenue in Rochester, and the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial on Exchange Street in Rochester and the former Medley Centre in Irondequoit.
Phyllis Ely, town of Penfield: "I’ve been giving people the analogy, it's like being at a wedding and waiting for your table to be called for the buffett."

John kiriazides, Penfield resident: "I bundled up, thinking I was going to be in line for a while but it didn't take very long at all."

Monroe County health officials promised to make the flu clinics more efficient today and they lived up to their word. There were a lot of complaints Thursday for the first round of clinics. People waited in lines for hours. Health officials say the clinics ran smoothly today.

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks today announced that the H1N1 vaccination clinics which were held over two-days across Monroe County have been a success and that over 16,000 residents took advantage of getting immunized.
