9-year-old foils carjacker, saves three younger brothers

Kid foils carjacking Back on November 6, a nine-year-old boy from Charleston, West Virginia stopped a carjacker from driving off with his three younger brothers in the back seat.

"I was a little bit scared," said nine-year-old Malik Youngblood.

Even though Youngblood is soft-spoken and a little bit shy, don't let his demeanor fool you.

Malik looked a scary situation in the face and won!

The nine-year old stopped a near carjacking that was caught on camera at �The One Stop� in Charleston.

Malik's mom left her keys and kids in the car and went inside to get a drink.

That's when police say Jonathan Martin got in her car and was ready to drive off with Malik and his three young brothers strapped-in the back!

"He just got in the car and told me to get out but I took the keys out the ignition and he banged my head against the door," Malik said.

But even after he was hit in the head Malik managed to hold onto the keys and run inside to get help.

Stopping a grown man from potentially hurting not only him but his little brothers.

Malik says he was scared but he just knew he had to act fast.

"The reason I grabbed the keys because I didn't want my little brothers to die," Malik said.

This big brother taking a big risk that may have saved his family.

The suspect ran away, but was captured shortly afterward. He's been charged with grand larceny and four counts of kidnapping.
