It was a perfect day for families to come out and wave the red, white and blue for the Memorial Day parade in downtown Rochester.
News10NBC asked some of the parade goers what Memorial Day means to them.
Don Peters said, “It’s all about remembering the soldiers that fought for us and fought for our freedom.”
Sean Sing added, “Remembrance and gratitude for what they've done for us.”
“It means to me that we come and support that served in our country,” said Amy Shelton. “We’ve had grandparents who served in World War II and it's important for my children who are young who don't understand fully to come and appreciate.”
The parade featured marching bands from different branches of the military as well as local groups that support those who serve and their families.
