Rochester Police ID 20-year-old man shot and killed on Wilkins St.

Rochester Police have identified the 20-year-old man who was shot and killed on Wilkins St. near Joseph Ave. in Rochester.

Police say shot spotter alerted them to the shooting just before 11:00 p.m Thursday. Responding officers found 20-year-old Miguel DeJesus on the ground with a gunshot wound to the torso. DeJesus was taken to Strong Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Joseph Ave. was closed immediately after the shooting while police investigated. Police brought in K9 units to search the area after getting conflicting reports about possible suspects. 

Police do not have a suspect in custody at this time and the investigation is continuing.
