Sodus man arrested after one-car crash; Faces DWI, DUI and other charges

News10NBCPolice say a Sodus man was arrested early Sunday morning around 6 a.m. for driving while intoxicated, driving while impaired by drugs, leaving the scene of the accident.

Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies tell News10NBC that 32-year-old Joseph Currington of Sodus was in a one-car crash prior to his arrest.

They say he struck a mailbox post, causing damage to it, on Route 21 in the Town of Hopewell.

Currington, according to a witness a nearby parking lot, was located and reported to police after the crash.

Police say Currington was issued tickets for DWI, as well as the other charges, and was released. He is due back in court at a later date.
