Senator Chuck Schumer in Rochester for street funding
Posted at: 06/11/2012 5:21 PM
Senator Chuck Schumer is trying to secure federal money to make some one-way streets downtown, two-way streets.
It all has to do with Rochester's new downtown bus station between North Clinton Avenue and St. Paul Street, about a block north of Main Street.
Schumer wants the FTA to give the city $562,000 to complete the project.
Senator Schumer was also talking about the controversial move to get people to pay extra for aisle and window seats on planes. He's fighting to change that. He wrote to the airlines and he's seeing some progress. JetBlue and Virgin Airlines say they won't charge extra. He's trying to get other airlines to follow suit.
