The Veterans Outreach Center in Rochester has received a $300,000 federal grant to help provide new job training opportunities for struggling veterans.
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand worked to secure the grant. She said, "New York's veterans are some of the bravest, hardest working men and women you could ever ask for. They bravely fought for our country overseas and they shouldn't be in the fight of their lives once again here at home in a tough economy.”
The grant is part of a nationwide initiative estimated to serve roughly 8,600 veterans nationally with job training to help them succeed in civilian careers.
