A new study says we are one step closer to having a nicotine vaccine.
Researchers developed a vaccine that binds to nicotine in the blood stream, and prevents it from getting to the brain. When mice were exposed to the amount of nicotine in two cigarettes, those given the vaccine did not show symptoms of nicotine exposure and they had less nicotine their brain.
Experts say human studies are needed and those trials are still years away.
