A benefit was held today for a former Post Office worker who says he became seriously ill after coming in contact with a strange package. A car wash fundraiser was held at the Nothangle office in Irondequoit today to help pay for Jeff Lill's medical bills.
His mother, Janet Vieau, says her son, Lill, has become bed ridden as a result of coming in contact with the package. Vieau also says the money from the fundraiser will go to help pay for tests her son needs and that his insurance will not cover.
"We've gone through a lot of the traditional tests and lab work and traditional caregivers," says Vieau. "And we've gotten to the level now where many of his physicians are saying that they really need to go into lab work that is out of pocket."
Vieau says her son now suffers from nerve and digestive problems. She also says the Post Office continues to deny that the incident ever happened.
