Voters in the Canandaigua School District have approved public funding for Wood Library.

The vote was 1,233 for and 772 against.

The vote allows the school district to collect $600,000 a year in taxes for the library starting in 2013. That amounts to 29-cents per thousand dollars of assessed property value.

The library will continue to raise private funds as well.
