Local soldier dies while serving in Afghanistan

A local soldier has been killed while serving overseas in Afghanistan. A spokesperson for the family confirms 23-year-old Theodore Matthew Glende was killed Friday.

Glende (pictured on the left) attended McQuaid Jesuit High School and is a graduate of Niagara University. Sadly, we have also learned that Glende was also a newlywed. Details of the death have yet to be released.
