Blood donations at lowest point in 15 years

National blood donations are at the lowest point in 15 years. The American Red Cross say it's because of a perfect storm of events.
Summer is always difficult for blood donations. The number of car crashes and other accidents increase and there are fewer donors because so many people are traveling.
The Red Cross says this summer has been extra challenging because of storms in the Midwest and east coast driving up demand. Power outages have also caused blood drives to be cancelled.
