A scuba diver was injured early Sunday afternoon when he was hit by a boat.
Ontario County Sheriff's Deputies say that 63-year-old Frank Porter, of Penfield, was diving 20 yards off the shore on Canandaigua Lake near a Rochester man who was operating a pontoon boat.
Deputies say that Porter broke his right arm when he was hit by the boat as he attempted to surface. The driver of boat helped Porter get to shore, where he was transported by ambulance to FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua.
Police say they do not believe that drugs or alcohol had a role in the accident, and say Porter was not using a safety flag at the time of the accident.
Police issued Porter a citation for not using the proper marker flag while diving.
