nullIt's an event, filled with food, to help fight hunger.

Organizers held the annual Festival of Food Tuesday. It's a Foodlink initiative to help the hungry.

100 restaurants, wineries and breweries were set up at the Rochester Public Market to serve the more than 1,200 people who attended the festival.

Foodlink's Chief Operating Officer says the event is a good opportunity to show the ties between local agriculture and the work that Foodlink does.

"There's the best of upstate New York shown here and that's what we want to do, is really integrate the link between the agriculture economy and the food insecure community, and theres so much opportunity there. There's no reason anyone in upstate New York should be hungry," Jeanette Batiste says.

Organizers wore orange to the festival to signify Hunger Action Month, which is this month.

Foodlink has served more than 200,000 people across a 10-county region.
