A young woman from Pittsford and her friend are pedaling for a cure.
Kate Trono and Lindsey Richardson flew out to Los Angeles in August and have been riding to the east coast since.
Kate lost her father and a family friend to a rare form of brain cancer. She wanted to do something to give back and her friend was more than willing to help out.
Both women say they didn't even have bikes before they began their journey.
So far they have traveled more than 3,500 miles and say they've battled intense weather... from triple digit heat to head winds, even hail storms.
They say it's all worth it to raise money and awareness about brain cancer.
Kate Trono says, "Every cancer is awful in it's own way, but brain cancer takes away who you are... it attacks your vision, your language, your memory, or a combination. We just want it to be gone".
Lindsay and Kate leave tomorrow for the final leg of their journey. They will head to Boston and wrap things up on Thursday, October 11... exactly 2 months after they began.
