A spokesperson for the Monroe County Health Department tells News10NBC there have been sixteen cases of E. Coli in Western New York linked to recalled salad mixes from Wegmans.
John Ricci says ten of the cases were reported in Monroe County, and three people had to be treated. He says they have since been released from the hospital. Ricci says you should contact your doctor if you've consumed the product and have any symptoms including stomach cramps, diarrhea, vomiting, and low fever.
News10NBC reported on Thursday that Wegmans had recalled its Organic Spinach and Spring Mix Blend because they may have been contaminated with E. coli. Those salad mixes came in five ounce and eleven ounce containers and were sold between October 14 and Thursday. According to Wegmans' website, the blend is produced by a company called State Garden.
More information on the recall is available here.
