Get ready to hear those bells ringing as you walk into supermarkets and stores.
The Salvation Army kicked off its Red Kettle campaign Thursday morning at the marketing agency, Dixon Schwabl, in Victor.
This year, the Dixon Schwabl family is leading the campaign. The goal is to raise $560,000.
Captain Randy Orr says the number of people in need in our community is staggering. “We start our Christmas intake next week where we're signing up for people who need help so we don't know the number for this year, but last year it was about a 40-percent increase in the number of people who were coming to us for the first time.”
You can help. The Salvation Army hopes to get 10,000 volunteers involved in the Red Kettle campaign.
