If you're a Twitter user who found your password had been reset Thursday, don't blame hackers. Twitter itself is the problem.
The social networking site says its workers mistakenly reset the passwords of some users as part of a routine security checkup.
The mix-up sparked a series of warnings that the site had been overrun by hackers. But on its Web site, Twitter eventually let users in on what happened.
Twitter says it regularly resets the passwords of accounts that have been infiltrated by hackers or suspicious websites but this time, it says its security people had reset a larger number of passwords than they intended.
