The New York State Thruway Authority has postponed its meeting in Albany to talk about the possibility of raising tolls for truckers on the Thruway.
The decision could affect what people are paying for goods moved by trucks, like groceries. Brian Sampson of Unshackle Upstate said he expects the toll increase could be as high as 45 percent.
Governor Cuomo and legislative leaders say a toll increase is necessary to keep the 570-mile highway system safe and in good repair.
The meeting was also canceled last Friday, November 9, due to Hurricane Sandy.
