Opponents of hydro fracking are hoping religion will help get their message out.
Tuesday night about 40 people gathered at Cobbs Hill Park in Rochester for what organizers described as a spiritual call to ban fracking in New York.
They talked about the environment and how to get their message out to faith organizations.
Zora Gussow, of New Yorkers Against Fracking said, "Most recently we have been working with faith groups because they take it from a moral stance on protecting the earth and making sure there is access to water for everyone."
While this event was going on... Organizers say similar spiritual vigils were held in Albany, New York City and Binghamton.
