Prosecutors say a veteran postal worker has been sentenced for pilfering stamps and money from western New York post offices.
U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. says 45-year-old Mary Walworth of Rochester was sentenced Wednesday to two years supervised release and must pay $2,000 in restitution to the Postal Service. She had been convicted of theft of government funds and property.
Prosecutors say Walworth worked for about 11 years as a sales and service associate before the thefts were discovered. She had worked at post offices in Churchville, Hamlin, Avon, North Chili, Brockport, Hilton and Byron.
