A Rochester man was killed Saturday night after being hit by a car in Ontario County.
Sheriff's deputies say it happened on Route 96 in the town of Farmington just before 9:30 p.m. Investigators say 32-year-old Quincy Meeks was in the road when he was hit by a car that was headed east. Meeks was taken to F.F. Thompson Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
On Sunday, News10NBC learned a little about Meeks. A childhood friend of his said Meeks is a former Edison Tech High School student and also went to Monroe Community College. His friend said everyone who knew him is pretty much in shock.
Officials closed Route 96 for several hours following the incident as investigators worked to reconstruct the scene. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined and deputies say no charges have been filed at this time.
