One person taken to hospital after Lexington Avenue shooting

Rochester Police are investigating a shooting on the city’s west side.

Officers were called to Lexington Avenue near Rainier Street around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday for the report of a shooting. Investigators tell News10NBC one person was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

According to police, a woman and infant were home at the time of the shooting but were not injured.

Two weeks ago, investigators say a 22-year-old woman was shot twice while sitting inside this same house.
