Troopers: Man hit girlfriend, knocked down 2 children

A Wayne County man is under arrest following a domestic dispute in which police say he injured his girlfriend and two children.

33-year-old Justin Venard is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment. Police say during the incident, Venard hit his girlfriend in the head several times. Officials say he also knocked an infant off a bed and another into a door jamb.

Troopers say the argument started over a cigarette. Venard was arraigned and taken to the Wayne County Jail.
