A former Canandaigua Academy teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student was in court Wednesday.
Lisa Footer, 44, is accused of having a sexual encounter with a 16 year old last month in the parking lot of a Byrne Dairy store in Canandaigua. She appeared with her lawyer in Canandaigua City Court and plead not guilty to those charges. Police also believe she had sexual contact with the boy at her Manchester home in July. She will be arraigned on those charges Wednesday evening.
Footer is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and sexual abuse.
Footer submitted her letter of resignation on Tuesday. The Board of Education accepted her resignation Tuesday evening during a special meeting.
