Teen dies after head-on collision in Genesee County

A Batavia teenager is dead after a head-on collision in Genesee County Saturday evening.

State Police in Batavia say 17-year-old Collin Crane was driving west on State Route 33 in Stafford when his vehicle crossed the center line at around 6:15 p.m. Crane's car then struck another vehicle, operated by 49-year-old Carmen Vega, that was going eastbound.

Officials say Crane was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Vega was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital with a severe leg injury.

Troopers are still investigating the crash and trying to determine exact cause.
