It's happened again -- a huge wave of protest online has forced a company to back away from a policy that its users disagreed with.
Instagram now says it will remove language from its new terms of service that suggests the company can make use of users' photos in ads.
When the new TOS was published, people went nuts on social media and privacy rights blogs. After the outcry, Instagram made clear it has no plans to put users' photos in ads.
Instagram is owned by Facebook. The photo-sharing site doesn't currently run ads, has no way to make money and brings in no revenue to its parent company.
