Police say a 43-year-old Canandaigua woman is facing charges for stealing money from the Wayne Surrogate Court.

Barbara LoTemple is charged with official misconduct and petit larceny.

State Police say LoTemple stole cash, less then $1,000, while she was employed as the Chief Clerk for the Wayne County Surrogate’s Court in Lyons. Investigators say the theft occurred between August and October 2012.

LoTemple was arraigned and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $500 bail. She is due back in court on January 9.
