Rochester man charged in violent wrong-way crash on 590

State Police have arrested a 38-year-old Rochester man who they say was drunk when he drove the wrong way on 590 back in November, injuring a Hilton man.

Mario Carlenius is charged with aggravated vehicular assault, assault, aggravated DWI, reckless driving and driving on the wrong side of the road.

According to investigators, Carlenius was driving the wrong way on I-590 for approximately five minutes before he hit a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Stanislav Dutchak. When the crash first happened, troopers told News10NBC they did everything possible to stop Carlenius but he wouldn't stop.

Carlenius was arraigned and remanded to the custody of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $5,000 bond.

His trial is set for May 2013.
