A Warsaw man was arrested after deputies say he struck a road sign and forced three other drivers off the road.
Deputies say they received calls for an erratic driver in Warsaw at around 9:00 p.m. Friday night from Wyoming County Probation Officers. Those officers say they saw the driver, 35-year-old Jeffrey Murphy, hit a road sign near the intersection of Oatka Road and Keeney Road.
Officers say Murphy then continued to Route 19 in South Warsaw where he caused three southbound drivers off the road. At that point, officers stopped Murphy and deputies say when they arrived they found Murphy was drunk and did not have a valid driver's license. Deputies also say his blood alcohol content level was more than three times the legal limit.
He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, driving while intoxicated, and aggravated driving while intoxicated.
Murphy was arraigned in Warsaw Court and then taken to Wyoming County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court in January.
