Five adults and six kids are being assisted by the Red Cross after fire broke out.
Crews were called to an apartment building on Saint Paul Street near Clifford Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
When crews arrived they say heavy black smoke was coming from the back of the building.
Officials say no one was home in the part of the apartment where the fire started.
The fire itself is still under investigation.
