Firefighters in the Ridge Road Fire District raised $500 with a boot drive Friday morning to help their fallen brothers in West Webster.
The drive was held at the Mall at Greece Ridge and was part of the department's weekly blood pressure screening held there every week.
Firefighters talked about the importance of doing what they can to help honor Lieutenant Mike Chiapperini and Tomasz Kaczewka.
Randy Jensen said, “It's huge for us, you know, they're brothers. We spend a lot of time over at West Webster filling it, we're part of the funeral details. So it's important for us to do what we can to help our brothers out. If the shoe was on the other foot, we know the members of the West Webster Fire Department would be the first ones to our door, offering whatever kind of assistance that we can do."
The Ridge Road Fire Department will hold another drive at the mall next Friday.
News10NBC has learned that fire departments in Orleans County will hold a boot drive for West Webster Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the intersection of Route 98 and Main Street in Albion.
