State Police warns public about callers claiming to be troopers

State Police are warning residents about phone calls that involve people posing as troopers.

Troopers have received complaints from residents in Wayne County who state that they have received phone calls asking for donations from people claiming to be the State Police.

State Police in New York do not solicit money over the phone.

Anyone receiving those types of phone calls should contact their local State Police station.
