Diet soda and depression

That Diet Coke or Pepsi might make you feel better about your calorie intake but it can lead to an increased risk of depression.
In a study from the National Institutes of Health, experts found that Americans who drank more than four cans of regular soda were 22-percent more likely to develop depression. The risk was even higher for people who drank four diet sodas a day at 31-percent.
Enjoying a diet fruit drink could put you at a 51-percent higher risk of depression.
If coffee is your preference, there is some good news. People who drank four cups of coffee per day were 10-percent less likely to be diagnosed with depression compared to people who didn't drink coffee.
