A Newark man is under arrest after police say he stole a car from a woman and threatened another man who picked him up later on.
Seth Brown is charged with robbery and grand larceny.
Newark Police say officers responded to the Pizza Hut for a reported stolen car around 6 P.M. Thursday. Investigators say Brown approached the driver and ordered her to get in the car and drive him to Fairport. Police say the woman refused and the two got into a struggle which ended when police say Brown forced the woman to the ground and then took the car.
Later on, police say another driver picked brown up as he was hitchhiking along Route 31.
Police say Brown ordered that driver to take him to an ATM for money but the driver saw a Palmyra Police officer who investigators say was looking for the stolen vehicle and pulled up to the officer. That's when Brown was taken into custody.
Investigators say Brown also approached at least two other people and attempted to pressure them into taking him to Fairport.
Brown is being held in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail.
