Route 250 bridge in Fairport to temporarily close

The Route 250 bridge over the Erie Canal in the Village of Fairport will temporarily close starting January 21 for repairs.

DOT officials say a detour will be posted using Church Street, Turk Hill Road and High Street. A separate truck detour will be posted along Ayrault Road, Turk Hill and Whitney Roads. The sidewalk will remain open to pedestrians and bicyclists.

The closure is expected to last six weeks.
